Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit youth ballet company and our mission is twofold: to provide dance students professional performance opportunities and to share live ballet theater with the community.
Meet Ballet Etc. Performance Collective (BEPC)
The Ballet Etc. Performance Collective provides advanced dancers with exceptional training, individualized coaching, and performance opportunities to prepare for collegiate dance programs and professional careers. Through festivals, competitions, and high-level instruction, we inspire dancers to grow in technique, artistry, and confidence while pursuing their highest potential.

Universal Ballet Competition
Each year we attend Universal Ballet Competition (UBC). This is an outstanding experience for all advanced dancers, this fantastic competition offers masterclasses and feedback from world renowned dancers, choreographers, and professionals in the industry. Dancers can receive scholarships for colleges, summer programs, workshops and more.

Coaching
Just like Ballet Etc. the performance collective emphasizes a strong focus on technique with a family like atmosphere. Although dancers are competing, we insist that dancers focus on personal growth and being the best that they can be. Each student will have personalized coaching to take their dancing to the next level.

What other performances can I expect?
Each year differs based on dancer needs and scheduling. Generally we perform at a competition like Encore or DMI, and UBC. We also attend CNADM for the college weekend in the Fall and the Summer workshop/competition. Festivals included are: Oakland Dance Festival, Michigan Dance Festival and Detroit Dance Festival. Dancers involved in BEPC also perform pieces in the Spring Concert.

Hollywood Connection
Located in Novi Michigan (convention and competition) gives dancers the opportunity to learn from professional instructors and choreographers while gaining experience in different styles of dance. The program focuses on building dancers’ confidence, technique, creativity, discipline, teamwork, and overall growth in a positive and supportive environment.

Oakland Dance Festival
Audition for scholarships, intensives, colleges, and an adjudicated performance
February 20-21
Michigan Ballet Festival
A dance event that brings together students, teachers, and professionals from across Michigan for a weekend of classes, performances, and educational opportunities. Dancers have the chance to learn from experienced instructors, improve their technique, and be inspired by other dancers in a supportive environment.
April 14-18
Universal Ballet Competition
UBC is a premier student ballet competition that provides dancers with opportunities to showcase their talent, receive mentorship from industry professionals, gain scholarship opportunities, and connect with the global ballet community.
